Honoring the Legacy of Dan and Matt

 

In 2018, the world lost a remarkable individual, Dan Youngblood, whose passion for wrestling and dedication to shaping the lives of young athletes left an indelible mark. The Youngblood Eveleth Charitable Foundation was born out of the desire to continue Dan's legacy and extend a helping hand to deserving wrestlers in need.

 

Originating with a golf tournament, the foundation set out to provide scholarships to aspiring wrestlers, embodying Dan's spirit of generosity and commitment to the sport he loved. The journey continued in 2021 with the untimely passing of another local wrestling icon, Matt Eveleth. In remembrance of both of these great men, the foundation proudly added the Eveleth name, ensuring that their combined impact on the wrestling community would endure.

Dan and Matt were not just colleagues; they were good friends and coaching partners who made on impact on the athletes they mentored. Beyond the wrestling mat, they instilled values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and community in all those they inspired.
